Redeemed!
After reading my last post, Mr. R was taking the dog for his last evening outing and looked over as a car was coming down the street casting light on the chair sitting by the road. He just couldn't stand it. He put the dog in the house and went over and redeemed the chair.
He redeemed it for usefulness. For rememberance. For a break for his legs as he trims the dog.
Ah, the joy of being redeemed for usefulness!!!
I Peter 3:18-20 talkes about some folks who were not interested in being redeemed. Scripture says that Christ sent His Spirit to preach to these people during Noah's time. Matthew Henry writes that "He went and preached, by His Spirit, striving with them, and inspiring and enabling Enoch and Noah to plead with them, and preach righteousness to them.. . The sin of these people: they were disobedient, that is, rebellious, unpersuadable and unbelieving. . ."
It is such a blessing to be redeemed. And for a purpose. To enjoy God and glorify Him for ever. And to be useful! This little chair will hopefully remind me of that!
