The Last of Fall. . .

We went for a walk at Southeastway Park last weekend, it was a beautiful day! I am pretty sure it was the peak weekend of the season! Lots of pictures resulted from the walk

There is a huge prairie at the park and it was glowing in the afternoon sunlight!

On top of the hill, It was a beautiful day!!

Just pretty. A view of the prairie from the top of the hill. This is the prairie Philip and his ecology class came and had to do research on during a field trip one day in class at UIndy.

This felt kinda Christmas-y.

An interesting feather amongst the leaves.

Leaves in the creek.

Took a similar shot last year. Just as beautiful this year!

The leaves were golden!

A well etched tree.

These were so unusual! They looked like they were growing out of the tree!

This is not related to the walk at all. This is our prize solo watermelon. We planted lots of seeds, but this was the only one to grow and not go bad before it ripened. Amazing! It was very tasty, according to our resident watermelon eaters!
Well, the fall is basically over, and the stores have already kicked into the Christmas season! I think they forgot Thanksgiving!! Anyway, it was a beautiful end to the season. Now if we could just bottle up that wonderful weather and all the colors and have it all year long!! Or at least longer than it usually stays!! That would be the perfect place to live!!
