The Alamo!!!With Crocket's Hotel in the background. The Last Mission we saw!

This is a bit out of order. This is the second to last mission we saw. It is San Juan Capistrano.

It was so hot! Felt like 102 degrees!

This bricks are in an arch at the Mission Espada. They are based on the Roman bricks used in Europe.

Door knob at the First Mission we saw, Concepcion.

It was early and the sun was peaking over the building.

Dave took this one with his phone.

This is a oven at the Mission San Jose.

The simple design of the homes built into the wall.

More homes at San Jose.

Way out of order, but this is Concepcion.

Back to San Jose. Moorish arches and Romanesque design.

Lots of building!

San Jose has the walls of the compound and the grist mill still in place.

More homes. Very unsual trees!

Pretty and very welcome shade.

The inside of the grainary. It was remarkably cool inside the buildings.

They used butresses to support the grainary!

San Jose.

Again, out of order, but this is Mission Espada.

All of the missions were painted by the indians at one time. This design is one of those that can be seen throughout San Antonio. Very pretty!

San Jose.

More cooking at San Jose! Grinding corn.

Back to Espada. More arches.

The Priest at Espada had beautiful flowers.

A moorish doorframe at Espada.

The bells really still ring.
These are the missions we visited. It started out a perfect day, 75 degrees. By the time we arrived at the Alamo, it was very hot, felt like over 102. Needless to say, we were thankful we didn't ride our bikes!!!!
