Off and Running....Almost

Mon 8/13-Viva's knee surgery went fine. She went with a spinal block this time which made the recovery quick. In a few hours she was in her room and alert. Some adjusting to the pain medications was necessary but overall she is off to a good start. The replacement knee is the same as the other knee- titanium, plastic and cemented to the bone. The doctor indicated she may be out of the hospital on Friday and headed to the rehab center. The team Lisa, Adrianna, Danielle and I headed off for dinner, Amish style. And of course a picture of our mascot, Annie. Too cute. Thanks for all the prayers today.
Tue 8/14- Last night was restless with not much sleep. The pain medicine seems to give her an upset stomach but has settled down today. She was up and out of bed for a brief rehab exercise. Two units of blood today to help get her strength back. A slight fever which apparently is the result of getting blood.The team has divided as Lisa and the girls head back to start school. They were a huge help and blessing as family can be. I will remain to the end of the week and the transition to the rehab center. Prayer today would be for no infections and strenght.
