In the Canyon of Yellowstone. Beware of high altitude!

A mini guyser. All that steam bubbling up a bunch of mud!

Re-newing the forest.

The Canyon. Looks kinda like parts of the North Rim.

This is the Hot Springs at Mammoth in Yellowstone. They are steaming baths of sulfer and other minerals. All the land around is just a thin crust with bubbling steam and stuff beneath.

Elks were everywhere. These were in the middle of the little town of Mammoth. Everyone stands around and looks. Almost like they were worshiping these creatures. They are huge animals!

More of the Hot Springs. It looks like snow, but it is very hot!

On the way in to Yellowstone from the East Entrance, we came over the Buffalo Bill Dam and Reservoir.

Bison were everywhere. The steam in the back is from vent holes in the ground releasing steam! I was running back on the road a bit to get this picture, in my clogs, no hiking shoes. Ooops!

In front of a stinky bubbly boiling mud volcano!

Dave walked right passed this guy. Could have petted him. I wasn't that brave.

A bit out of order, This is at the hotel we stayed in Cody. We will be back here Friday and Saturday.

This was our room. Right next to the Hot Tub. Would recommend this place if anyone is coming here!

Awwww, a happy cowboy! The town of Mammoth is behind him.

This was a hot spring that had run over the edge. Looks like ice, but its not!

On the edge of Yellowstone Lake there are vent holes that are really loud and constantly steaming. (so does everyone with dial up hate me at this point with all these pictures!?)
We arrived in Cody late, slept in a bit then headed into Yellowstone. We only saw the Eastern side of it yesterday, but what we saw was amazing! God is an artist for sure! We took a ton of pictures (but I was having trouble with my bulb setting for a long exposue or two, so I guess I am still learning. . . .) but wont post them all!! There is a vastness to this country that photos or words can't describe. We have enjoyed the day trips, but after last night driving over Homestead Pass in the pouring rain on roads which looked like we were driving through obsidian rock, we decided to reroute and re plan the remainder of the trip. Take a day from here and add it there. No more mountain night driving! Yay! Today we are heading up to Glacier National Park and will stay there, then return to Missoula. We miss everyone more and more and lots and lots and know you are all having a busy and stressful week! Know we are praying for you!!!! Enjoy the photos!! Check back again!!
